Position: Legal Assistant (Civil Litigation)
Location: Damai, Kota Kinabalu

The role is contested civil litigation, with regular court appearances. It is suited to a self-starter who is looking at a partner track.

You will need:

*Admission as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Sabah & Sarawak
*At least 2 years in civil litigation, with your own contested matters
*Court experience — interlocutory applications, cross-examination, submissions
*Good spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia (another language is an advantage)
*The ability to run your files with minimal supervision, and the drive to take work forward without being told
*Willingness to travel, both within Malaysia and overseas
*Own transport and a valid driving licence (preferred)
*The nerve to hold a position under pressure, and the judgment to know when a position cannot be held
